Market Village Map of India, 2011

This point shapefile represents market villages of India. Markets may be held daily, weekly or monthly. The identification of the market village is from the 2011 Census of India. The location coordinates are from satellite images, and all villages over 5000 population are placed on the village settlement. In the present database, several features have been added from the Village Asset tables of the District Census Hanbook of 2011.This dataset is intended for researchers, students, and policy makers for reference and mapping purposes, and may be used for village level demographic analysis within basic applications to support graphical overlays and analysis with other spatial data.
